Cricket tour

The team played two matches, one 25 over match and one 35 over match.  The aim of the trip was to build a team for 2015. We kept 5 of the seniors and filled the team with juniors. They coped well with cold weather. They played on a grass pitch and most of them found this difficult as we are only used to a cement pitch. Out best batmen were: Tyler Jordan (U12) with a total of 39 runs, Chad Hodder with 20 runs (only dismissed once) and Tyler Adkins with 17 runs. Our best bowler was Jared Jooste who bowled 12 overs, conceded 57 runs and took 5 wickets.  This is an average of 4,75 runs per over at a strike rate of 11,4 runs per wicket taken.

We were well beaten and outclassed in all departments of the game but took many positives from the weekend.  Our boys were well behaved and our captain, Kendall Edwards , led by example.

Mr Ivo Steyn and GM Umhlanga for sponsoring the transport and caps for the boys. Mr Ivo Steyn also acted as driver, photographer and chaperone.

Mr Ravi Mohanlall who helped with the transport and acted as chaperone and photographer.
